This indenture made and entered into the third day of January in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and thirty-two between Adam Turner and Lettishey,
his wife, of the one part and Emanuel Black of the other part, all of this County of Lincoln
and State of Missouri. Witness that the said Adam Turner and Lettisia, his wife, for and
in consideration of the sum of one-hundred and twenty dollars to them in hand paid
The receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, and sold and by
these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said Emanuel Black a certain tract
or parcel of land situated, lying and being in the county and state aforesaid, being a part of
James Green's Survey of 680 35/100 acres No. 700:
Beginning at two white oaks near where said Turner's house now stands
running thence North fifty-two degrees east, sixty poles to three white
pine oaks & dead Hickory - Thence North Thirty-eight degrees west
one hundred and twenty-four poles to a post oak in a small prairie -
Thence south fifty-two poles to a post oak and black oak on the line of
the original Survey - Thence with said line south Thirty-eight degrees
east one hundred and seventy-four poles to the place of beginning,
containing sixty-five acres. To have and to hold the above described
premises to the whole and sole use of the said Emanuel Black, his heirs
and assigns forever, And the said Adam Turner and Lettishey, his wife,
do further agree to warrant and forever defend the above described
premises to the said Emanuel Black against the claims of all and every
person or persons whatsoever.
In witness whereof they have hereunto set their hands and affixed

Be it remembered that on this day of the third February
in the year one thousand eight hundred & twenty six personally
appeared before the undersigned, one of the Justices of the
County of Lincoln and State aforesaid, Adam Turner & Lettisia,
his wife, both personally know to me to be the persons whose
names are affixed to the foregoing instrument of writing who
severally acknowledged the same to be their acts and deeds for
the purposes therein mentioned, and that the said Lettisia being
by me first made acquainted with the contents thereof and
examined separate & apart from her said husband and relinquished
her dower in and to the within described premises acknowledged
and stated that she executed the same and relinquished her dower
in and to the within described premises voluntarily, freely and
without compulsion or undue influence on the part of her said
husband, taken and certified the day and year aforesaid.
