Deceased Name: Bacel N. Smith
BRECKENRIDGE - Bacel N. Smith, a retired Air Force jet mechanic, died
Saturday in Abilene. He was 68.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Morehart Mortuary in Breckenridge.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Prairie Haven
Cemetery in Hobbs, N.M.
Mr. Smith was born in Brown County and retired from Tinker Air Force Base
in Oklahoma in 1976. A Marine Corps veteran of World War II, he was a
lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the Disabled American
Veterans.
Survivors: Wife, Glenda Smith of Breckenridge; son, Larry N. Smith of
Aberdeen, Miss.; eight stepsons, Glen L. Largent and Randy Griffin, both
of Breckenridge, Lee Largent, Kenneth Largent and Junior Largent, all of
Oklahoma City, Okla., Troy Largent of Tecumseh, Okla., Kenneth Griffin of
Collinsville, Okla., Denvil Griffin of Seminole; six stepdaughters,
Dretha Potts of Oklahoma City, Okla, Pauline Largent of Las Vegas, Gladys
Largent of Breckenridge, Karon Byrd, Drenda Hoyt and Ra Nae Graves, all
of Eunice, N.M.; two brothers, Lee Roy Smith and Johnny Smith, both of
Hobbs, N.M.; three sisters, Joyce Peacock, Bonnie Peacock and Glenda Perry,
all of Hobbs, N.M.; two grandchildren; 40 step grandchildren; and numerous
step great-grandchildren.
