Claud Barnett
Coleman - Claud Barnett, 82, died Friday in an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Coleman Cemetery with
Donald Ross Williams, Ray Dell, Ricky Barnett and Rinn Barnett officiating,
directed by Stevens Funeral Home.
Mr. Barnett was born in Santa Anna and attended school at Watts Creek.
He was a U. S. Army veteran and married Elda Henniger in 1939 in Bend. He lived
in Coleman County most of his life and worked as a bus driver and custodian for
the Coleman school system before retiring in 1976. He was a member of Elm Street
Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, of Coleman; seven sons, Roland Barnett of
Silver Valley, Richard Barnett of Fort Stockton, Randall Barnett
of Fairfield, Ray Dell of Bronte, Ricky Barnett and Riley Barnett,
both of Coleman, and Rinn Barnett of Abilene; five daughters, Ora Nell
Hopper and Casey Lobstein, both of Abilene, Heddy Barnett and Annie Brown,
both of Coleman, and Claudia Kemp of Burkburnett; two brothers, Dub Barnett
of Coleman and Lonzo "Duke" Barnett Jr. of Dallas; three sisters,
Alta Nicholson and Mary Joyce Bishop, both of Brownwood, and Lola Daylong
of Austin; 27 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
