Edwin C. (Ed) Hill
VERA, TX -- Edwin C. (Ed) Hill, 76, of Vera, Texas passed away on Friday,
May 13, 2005 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. Funeral services
will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2005 at the Church of Christ in Benjamin,
Texas with Hank Wagoner officiating. Burial will follow in Afton Cemetery near
Hamlin, Texas under the direction of Archer Funeral Home of Seymour, Texas.
Ed was born on March 9, 1929 in Fisher County, Texas. He was a Salesman for
Gooch Packing Company. Mr. Hill was a veteran of the United States Army
serving in the Korean Conflict.
He moved from Moran, Texas to Vera, Texas in 1990. He married June Wilkins
on June 5, 1951 in Hamlin, Texas. He was an avid gardener and loved bird
watching. He was the organizer of the Hitson school reunion. He was a member
of the Benjamin Church of Christ.
Survivors include: his wife, June Hill of Vera, Texas; two daughters,
Janice Treadaway of Miami, Arizona and Karen Bowles of Cisco, Texas;
one son, Eddie Hill of Petrolia, Texas; three sisters, Wanda O'Neil
of Lufkin, Texas, Juanita Bradshaw of Ft. Worth, Texas and Polly Cox
also of Ft. Worth, Texas; one brother, Gordon Hill of Ft. Worth, Texas;
seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and visitors on Sunday, May 15, 2005
at the funeral home from 4 to 5 p.m. ARCHER FUNERAL HOME
