Application to Sell Real Estate

To the Hon. W. H. Andrews Judge of the Eleventh Judical District of the
State of Texas, Christy Ann Roberts, Guardian of the person and estate
of John W. Roberts. a minor, would respectfully represent unto your honor that
said minor is now five years old. That his entire estate consists of 28 acres of land,
part of the James Russell Headright, situated in Hunt County Texas, and
an undivided interest in said Russell 640 Acre Survey. That there is no personal
effects belonging to estate of said minor, and that said Guardian the mother of
said minor is entirely dependent upon her daily labor the sustenance and support
and that said 28 acres of land is all the means that is available for the education
and maintenance of said minor.

She further represents that she has an opportunity to sell said land for its fair and

In District Court ~ October Term 1874

Now at this term of the Court comes Christy Ann Roberts Guardian of the
person and estate of John W. Roberts, a minor, and represents unto your
Honor that upon a former day of this term an order was granted authorizing
her to sell for cash the 27 acres of land belonging to the estate of said minor for
the support and maintenance of said minor.


Said Guardian would respectfully report that she has this day sold to
A. Cameron for cash said 27 acres of land at and for the sum of four dollars per
acre, making in the aggregate the sum of one hundred and eight Dollars, which she
represents it to be its full and equitable value. She therefore prays that Said sale
may be approved and in all things confirmed, and that she be authorized to make
deed for same to said purchaser. &c.
