Deaths and Funerals
Mary Lee Etta Fleming McDaniel, 76
Carbon: Mary Lee Etta Fleming McDaniel, 79, died Saturday, November 7 1998
in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. today (Tuesday) at Bakker Funeral Home Chapel in Eastland
with Jim Hatcher and Joe Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Murray Cemetery.
Mrs. McDaniel was born in Coleman County where she grew up and graduated from
Santa Ann High School. She worked in the Houston shipyards as a welder during
World War II, then earned a beautician's license and worked as a beautician until
1947. She lived in Freeport until 1952, when she returned to Carbon. She was a
homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She married J. L. McDaniel
in 1947.
Survivors include her husband, of Carbon; two sons, J. C. McDaniel of Carbon and
Kenneth McDaniel of Athens; two daughters, Betty Joyner of Austin and
Jennett McDaniel of Crowley; one brother, J. A. Fleming of Bangs;
one sister, Margie Fleming of Bangs; and four grandchildren.
