December 9th 1760. Then come before me Patience Cox & made oath that
Richard Whittenton late of this County departed this life on the Eight
of this Instant & Some time before his ~~ departure heard the said
Richard Whittenton make a verbal will in the manner Following - that is
to say that all his personal Estate might be kept together to raise his
Children upon, only that the money in Richard Thomas hands might be kept
for taking out a Deed out of Earl Granviles office for a Tract of land
lying upon Swift Creek which land he gives to his ~~ youngest son Richard Whittington.
