Deposition of Daniel Shipman from the Minutes of
Texas Supreme Court Case
3rd. Daniel Shipman testified -
I am acquainted with John H. Herndon and James R. Shipman.
Have known Herndon since 1835. J. R. Shipman is my brother. He has been an itinerant for years
and I don't know where he resides - I don't know Daws. Herndon, resides at Velasco Brazoria County:
I know A. L. Kuykendall and his wife, Ann Eliza - they are both now dead. I became acquainted
with them in 1835. I don't know when or where they died. Yes they had children, but I don't know
how many - I think the oldest was named Martha - they had two boys, I think named John and James,
as well as I remember John was born in the fall or winter of 1835. Martha is dead and I understood
James was dead. Martha died in Fort Bend County. Don't know where James Died.
I suppose plaintiff is the son of A. L. Kuykendall. I think he was born in the fall or winter
of 1835. this will show his age by calculation, I don't know where A. L. Kuykendall resided at the
time of his death.
